

Rena Edds Orr, age 95 of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Hardin Valley. She was a native of Lee County, Virginia and had lived in Knoxville for the past 16 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a former elementary school teacher and a homemaker. Rena attended Lincoln Memorial University. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur H. and Annie Martin Edds of Ewing, Virginia; her beloved husband of 71 years Dr. Clyde L. Orr; her brothers, Clayton Edds of Ewing, Virginia and Kenneth Edds of Versailles, Kentucky. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Scott of Surprise, Arizona and Bethany Kennemore of Powell, Tennessee; granddaughters, Nancy Kirby (Chris), Lisa Scott, and Ami Coleman (Rhett); grandsons, Brad Kiser (Marianne) and Keith Scott; great-grandchildren, Zach, Sam, and Ella Kirby, Mary Beth and Manning Coleman, Kayla and Megan Chambers, and Bryson and Clara Kiser; great-great-grandson Liam Collins; two sisters, Freda Bowling (Jess) of Versailles, Kentucky and Janice Smith (Gary) of Chatsworth, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rena’s family would like to thank the staff of The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Hardin Valley and the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Weaver’s Chapel on Western Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee with service to follow, Rev. A.D. Baxter officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Monday, September 8 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia for an 11:00am graveside service, Rev.
