Richard L. White

White, Richard Lynn, age 57, of Knoxville, passed away February 22, 2012 at Ft. Sanders Regional. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Frances White; his brothers, Bob and Troy White. He leaves behind his soul mate and partner, Tom Oswalt; adoring sisters, Debra Hurst White, Rita Taylor, and Ruth Phillips; loving brothers, J.T. White and Harold White; many fond nieces and nephews; and his feline “children” to whom he was so devoted. Rick enjoyed traveling (recently returning from a trip to Puerto Vallarta) and had a passion and keen eye for all things artistic and beautiful. He loved the Smoky Mountains and for much of his life was a hiking and outdoor enthusiast. Those fortunate enough to have known him will miss his quick wit, honesty, and compassion. A celebration of Richards’ life will be held at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., with his nephew, Pastor Greg White officiating.
