Robert "Bird" James McKee

Robert James McKee, age 64 of Knoxville, left us peacefully on February 25, 2025 surrounded by many friends and family. A beloved girlfriend left behind, Carrie Murphy. Bird will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help those in need and trouble as he had a big heart. Robert helped his community working for Mike Human BP. Everyone there loved him and greatly appreciated him.

Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Martha McKee and his brother, Michael McKee.

Robert is survived by 2 sisters, Carolyn Cates (Bob) and Becky McKee; brother, Richard McKee; niece, Rachel Villanueva; dear friend and mother of his children, Debbie Roberts; daughters, Tabitha and Jamie Hinton; grandchildren: Rosie Hinton, Annabelle Blackburn, Jaden Koontz, Raven Koontz, Destiny Hinton, Jameson, Bentlee Long, Adalyn Long; great-grandchildren: Phoenix Buchanan and Arabella Teffeteller; as well as a host of special friends.

A special thank you to James Roberts, Crystal Smith, Allen Frye, and Mike Human for their cherished friendship.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, March 17, 2025 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 PM for a 3:00 PM inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
