Richmond, Robert H., age 94 of South Knoxville, left us on January 23, 2016. Bob has lived in South Knoxville his entire life where he went to Knoxville High School. Bob was definitely a Vol For Life and followed Vol football and basketball programs religiously. He even had a funny story or two about sneaking into Neyland Stadium through the storm drain and other comical ways he said would be impossible to do today! Bob was a professional photographer and did many weddings, pageants and other photo shoots. He was most proud of being a WWII Veteran and earning the ranks of Staff Sergeant and Captain. Bob never met a stranger and loved telling his stories about meeting General Patton, having dinner with Ingrid Bergman on the French Rivera among many other amazing stories about being over the German P.O.W. camps and photographing many local celebrities. He was greeted in Heaven by his first wife Del, who he lost too soon, his second wife of 49 years, Katherine, his daughter Kathy, which cancer took at a young age and his sisters Lucille, Polly, Robbie and Hazel. Survivors include his beloved daughter Donna Pepper, who he was so proud of; step son Bill Gardener, granddaughter Allison Pepper Buckley and her husband Finn Buckley; grandsons Wyatt and Miles; His beloved cat of 15 years, Tina, who misses him terribly; special friends Alissa Herbert, David Cate, Tina and Matt Bobick, Tiffany Rogers and a host of many others. A special thanks to Sammy, who stayed with him over the last year and a half to assist him so that he could stay in his home and his Senior Companion, Billie who kept him in line. A graveside service will be held for Bob at the East Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery on March 11, 2016 at 1:30 where he will receive the full military honors he deserves. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard P.O. Box 22122, Knoxville, TN 37933.
