

Ronald Lee Conner, age 74, of Knoxville peacefully passed away May 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ronald was a graduate of South High School class of 1969 and enjoyed keeping up with his classmates throughout the years. During his time at South High School he met his soulmate and wife of 51 years, Gail. Ronnie was retired from UPS with 36 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Patricia Conner.
Ronnie loved being in the outdoors and could often be found working in the yard, gardening and spoiling his precious dog, Bree. He will be deeply missed not just for his kindness and generous heart but the way he could light up any room with a perfectly timed joke.
He was a proud father of Kevin and Lauren and grandfather of Nathan, Allie, William and Olivia to whom he was deeply devoted. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart and they filled each other’s lives with love and laughter.
Ronnie is survived by wife and best friend, Gail Sayne Conner; son, Kevin and wife, Glenda Conner; daughter, Lauren and husband, Steve Whittington; grandchildren, Nathan and Allie Conner, William and Olivia Whittington; brothers, Ernie and wife Jama Conner, Ken and wife, Genny Conner; brothers-in-law, Chuck and wife Amy Sayne, David Sayne, Robby and wife, Sarah Sayne and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 3-5 pm Saturday, May 31, 2025 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 5 pm. Rev. David Sayne and Dr. George Hollander officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 1:45 pm for a 2 pm graveside service.
