It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Rose Mary Sweet, who left this world far too soon. Rose Mary was born on December 5, 2025, at 11:19 a.m. in Columbia, SC, to Max and Jessica Sweet. Though her time on earth was brief, she made a profound impact on all who awaited her arrival.
Due to unforeseen complications, Rose Mary was placed on life support to aid her lungs as doctors worked tirelessly to deacidify her blood. Her family, surrounded by love and prayers, held onto hope for a miracle. Unfortunately, after just one day, Rose Mary was tenderly called home on December 6, 2025, at 4:07 p.m., in the loving embrace of her parents. While her time with us was fleeting, we take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
Jessica cherished the moments during her pregnancy when Rose Mary would dance in her womb during church services, especially on Sundays. The family finds peace in the thought that Rose Mary is now dancing with Jesus, surrounded by the heavenly choir of angels.
Rose Mary’s name, chosen with love and meaning, symbolizes purity and love. “Rose” represents an expression of love in its purest form, and “Mary” was chosen in honor of Jessica’s mother, Mary Ellen Herbert.
She is survived by her parents, Max and Jessica Sweet, and a host of family and friends who were touched by her brief yet precious life.
A memorial service to celebrate Rose Mary's life will be held on December 13, 2025, at 1:00pm at Herbert Riverside Farm with a graveside service to occur at 3:00pm. All are welcome to join us in honoring the memory of our sweet angel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cause supporting neonatal care or other charitable organizations in Rose Mary's memory. Please consider a donation to Isaiah 117 House or the March of Dimes.
Though her time on earth was brief, Rose Mary Sweet was too perfect and precious for this world, and she is now held safely in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.
