Mother was the epitome of a devoted wife to her late husband, Samuel Waller Anderson Jr. She was our rock who, alongside Daddy, brought us up in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Shirlee had many close women friends here in Knoxville and in Sumter, South Carolina. She was a wonderful witness to others and spent most of her final years in deep Bible studies which she shared with her family. She was a member of Christ Covenant Church in Farragut and while she was unable to attend church in her latter years, she listened to Seth Hammond online and appreciated his teaching of God’s Word.
Our precious mother prepared us for this time and prayed with us that God, through the power of His Holy Spirit, would continue to help us grow in faith and lean not on our own understanding but trust only in God’s will for our lives.
Shirlee was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Lee Anderson; parents, Raymond Howard Drysdale and Viola Casteel Drysdale; husband, Samuel Waller Anderson, Jr.; sister, Sharon Drysdale Jensen. Survivors include her daughters, Dabney Anderson Masincupp and son-in-law Danny Masincupp and Kimberly Anderson Martin and son-in-law Charles Perry Martin; sister, Judi Niderost and brother-in-law Jim Niderost and brother, Fred Drysdale and sister-in-law Jean Drysdale.
A private Graveside Service will be held for Shirlee at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
