Shirley Rose Baker

Shirley Rose Baker, 84, of Seymour, TN passed away at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. In Shirley’s words her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her children, she was a football mom, baseball mom, Girl Scout leader, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and continued her career with Baptist Hospital until her retirement. Shirley was deeply loved, and loved deeply, she will be sorely missed by all who called her friend.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Hillard and Martha Edens; husband, Max David Baker Sr.; grandson, Ryne Nicholos Baker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Max David Baker Jr.; daughter, Martha (Gary) Lindsay; son, Derek Steffan (Kimberly) Baker; grandchildren, Mackayla Arrianna Lindsay, Sarah Lindsey Baker, Nathaniel Grey Baker, Aaron Maxwell Baker; sister-in-law, Samita Baker Frei.

Family and friends will gather to honor the life of Shirley at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:30am. The family would like to send a special thank you to Blount Memorial Hospice for the loving care Shirley received while in their care.
