She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nancy Kedrow; her beloved brother, David Kedrow; and the love of her life, husband, Merrill Morrison. She is survived by her son, Stephen, his wife Nicole, of Tampa, Fl. and her brother, Paul, his wife Donna, their children Lauren, Elizabeth, Paul David, his wife Nell, and her adoptive family, the Vittetoes of Halls. Longtime close friends Charlie and Martha Gaut also mourn her passing.
Shirley had a strong faith. She was raised in Christ Church, Royal Oak, MI, and was the pianist for the choir for years. She played hymns daily in her apartment. She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, and solving puzzles of all kinds. She never failed to have fresh baked cookies for her brother's frequent visits. Shirley was a unique individual. Widowed early in life, she was fiercely independent. She was a feminist role model for young women, without the bravado or politics. She never asked anyone for anything, relying on her incredible work ethic to make her own way. If life got tough, Shirley got tougher. She lived alone till her death, and worked until age 82. Shirley was loved by all who knew her: family, friends, and anyone with whom she had regular contact. Her clever wit, hearty laugh, and sassy attitude will be sorely missed by all.
