Smythe (Bud) Evans Gambrell, 80, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 29, 2017. Bud was born and raised in South Carolina, graduated from South Carolina School for the Deaf. He was preceded in death by parents, Joe Alexander and Nora Gambrell and 11 beloved brothers and sisters. Bud is survived by wife, of 48 years, Nona Gail Gambrell; daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Bill Young; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Penny Gambrell; grandson, Adam Young; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rufus and Ella Mae Gambrell, Aaron and Robbie Ann Gambrell; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Service will follow at 7:00pm.
