Steven Edward Ford

Ford, Steven Edward “Crash” “Fordman”- age 55, passed suddenly at the family home on Friday, September 25, 2014. He was born on November 22, 1958 to Jack E. and Wilma E. Ford. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart, Karen Powell Ford; precious daughters Susan E. Gee and Stephanie E. Burt; sons-in-law, Marcus A. Gee and Andrew Burt; and lived for his grandson, Memphis R. Burt; his sister Sharon L. Ford; brother and sisters-in-law, John Powell, Matthew Powell, Tina Powell; and extended family, Ross and Tootsie Cagle, Jim Krieter, Ted Johnson, Craig Anderson; truly special neighbors, David and Edna Hubbs and Paul and Dorothy Hubbs. He was preceded in death by his father Jack E. Ford; grandparents Hubert and Lila Ford , Amber “Sleepy” and Helen Rogers. He was a man of many friends and few strangers who lived for his grandson and the great outdoors. He got his start in the home improvement business at Goddard Guttering, working his way from gutter installer to a salesman for 18+ years. He then moved over to Norandex for another decade as Territory Sales Manager for 5 states. Steve stayed busy “Just Piddlin” about with his work as a man of many talents. His hobbies included: hiking, camping, fishing, listening to music, cooking/canning and gardening. His garden is where he went to find great peace. One of his favorite achievements over the years he was most proud of was to have hiked the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain, GA to the Great Smoky Mountains, TN. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Suntrust Bank Account Number 1000180177759 in the name of Susan Gee, or donations may be mailed to Ross Cagle in Care of Steven Ford, 704 N. Edington Lane, Knoxville TN 37920. Memorial Services will be held at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
