
Schmudde, Theodore Henry “Bucko”, age 81, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 24, 2011. Ted was a retired professor of Geography at the University of Tennessee. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army between 1953 and 1955. Ted was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Pauline; parents, August and Lydia Schmudde; sister, Elaine Reichart; brother, Bud Schmudde. Survivors include children, Susan McLemore and husband, Jim, Eric Schmudde and wife, Anne Randolph, Anne Hudnall and husband, Tim, Andrew Schmudde and wife, Jill; grandchildren, Jason McLemore and wife, Melanie, Megan McLemore, Alex McLemore, Patrick McLemore, Davis Schmudde, Kelly Schmudde, Charlotte Hudnall, Thomas Hudnall, Spencer Schmudde, Johnny Schmudde and Paul Schmudde; great-granddaughter, Anna Kate McLemore; sister, Harriet Pewitt and sister-in-law, Lucy Schmudde. Special thanks to caregiver Shirley Vandaveer and her pet dog, Lilly. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, Pastor Ralph Kirkpatrick officiating, followed by a reception. A private burial service for the family will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike.
