

July 10, 1928 – April 29, 2025
Thomas was a resident of the Karns Community for well over 50 years. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Air Force. After 4 years, he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent, during his time in the service he worked in the Pentagon. When he was discharged, he was employed with Oak Ridge National Laboratory for 35 years. After his retirement he assisted ORNL in many endeavors. He was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and golfing. A faithful and loyal Christian he attended Beavercreek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by first wife, Martha Rawlings, and second wife Carol Strange, also by his daughter, Patricia (Hill) Morton.
Survived by son, Thomas Michael Hill, and wife Darlene; nephew, Jim Hill; five grandchildren, Leeann Farmer, Sara Rae Robinson, Joel Danner, Amy Danner, Joanna Heinz, eight great grandchildren, and one great- great grandson due in May. There were many special people throughout his life including Phil Danner. The family would like to thank the nurses of PCM, Mary, Beth, Erica, Courtney, Alina, Tracy, Amber, and Valerie. All provided superb care but most of all made him laugh and enjoy these last years.
Family will receive friends at Weaver’s Chapel on Thursday, May 8th from 6-7 pm with the memorial service to follow at 7 pm. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, May 13th at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.. Condolences are welcome at weaverfuneralservices.com.
