Thomas William King Sr., age 88, of Knoxville, TN went home to be with the Lord with his daughters at his bedside Saturday, April 6, 2024 after a long battle with bladder cancer leading to pulmonary edema. Tom worked for Mr. Hash at White Store doing multiple tasks. He then went to work at the post office at several different locations and routes. Tom retired in 1990 and celebrated by taking his whole family to Hawaii. He then decided to join the family business, Ima King Auditing and Inventory Services. The family decided to close the business in 2019, which allowed him to finally retire at the age of 84. Family meant the most to him especially, his three great-grandchildren.
Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Ima King; father, Reece King; mother, Lucille Plumblee King; infant brother and sister; brother, R.C. King and son-in-law, Robbie Banks.
He is survived by son, Thomas William King Jr; daughters: Kelly King (Phil) Keener, Tracey Dawn King Banks; grandchildren: Thomas William King III, Tiffany (John) Griffith, Matthew Keener, Ashley Marie Cauthron; great-grandchildren: Zoey Mae Cauthron, Leo Wallace Griffith and Warren Cyrus Griffith.
A private Graveside Service will be held for the family, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Meridian Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family invites friends to gather at Tom's home Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM for a catered lunch. They will receive friends that evening between the hours of 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Meridian Baptist Church 6513 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating.
