

RICKER, TOM – age 93 of Knoxville, passed away June 9, 2015 at Ben Atchley Veterans Home, just prior to his 94th birthday on June 14, 2015. Tom proudly served with the Army during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, member of the 84th Infantry Rail Splitters and the Red Ball Express. He was a man of faith, a longtime member of Powell United Methodist Church, the Fidelis Class, XYZs and REACT. He was a loving husband and a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was an auto mechanic and avid gardener.
Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Grace McAmis Ricker. Survived by children, Tom “TA” (Ursula) Ricker, Anne Ricker, Lynne (David) Bartlett, Beverly (Steve) Jones, Kendall (Cindy) Ricker; grandchildren, Tommy (Audia) Ricker, Karl (Shanna) Ricker, Courtney Bartlett, Andrew (Stephanie) Bartlett, Zach(Cassie) Jones, Nathan Jones, Grayson (Kayla) Ricker; great-grandchildren, Adrian ( Angel) Ricker, Lauren (Dylan) Ayers, Alex Ricker, Mason Ricker, Corban and baby Bartlett, Kenny and Bridget Erman; great-great-grandchild, Peyton Ayers ; nieces and nephews, Mike McAmis, Mary Smith, Mary Ann Willett, Jim Willett and other special friends and relatives.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Powell United Methodist Church. Celebration of Life service to follow, Carl Oaks officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date in Greeneville, Tennessee. Special thanks to the staff at Ben Atchley Veteran’s Home, especially B wing, for their love and care.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Tom’s love to garden, donations may be made to Powell United Methodist Church Food Pantry Community Garden.
