

Simpson, Vaughn, age 85, went to be with his Lord Jesus on August 10, 2011. He retired from Texaco Oil Company in 1980. Vaughn dearly loved his family, church and friends. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Alcoa, where he served faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Vaughn was an Army veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by parents, Vaughn and Alice Simpson; and loving wife of 63 years, Rachel Bales Simpson; sisters, Irene Kidd, Hattie Russell, Helen Wright, Pearl Yarber; brothers, Bill, Green, Roy, Fred, Deadrick and Homer Simpson. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Frahme and husband, Ed; Jan Davis and husband, Danny; grandchildren, David Frahme and wife, Krista; Leigh Ann Darley and husband, Dale; Brad Davis and wife, Tracie; Melissa McAmis and husband, Jacob; and Rachel Davis; great-grandchildren, Laura and Elizabeth Frahme, Kayce, Caleb and Kerah Darley, Parker and Mason Davis; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to sitters, Martha, Pam and Doris and UT Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, in Alcoa, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Danny Davis, Rev. David Frahme and Rev. Dale Darley officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Calvary Baptist Church and will proceed to Highland Memorial Cemetery, 5315 Kingston Pike, for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. Military honors by Tennessee Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be Ed Frahme, Brad Davis, Caleb Darley, Jacob McAmis, Davis McCammon, Jimmy Thomas, Carl Cunningham and Randy Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be the Believers Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 100 Rankin Rd., P.O.
