"I’m Walter (Dub) Marvin Ellison Bradley, the “Babydoll.” I was born on the 11th of January 1935 in Wooddale, Knoxville, TN. I was a member of Wooddale Free Will Baptist Church and attended Carter High School. Today, December 19, 2025, the book of my life is closed. But I’m not dead, I’m more alive than ever with my Jesus, “…the author and finisher of our faith… (Heb 12:2).”
Preceded in death by my parents, John and Marvin Ellison, brother Eddie, and sister Doris Richardson, survived by my beautiful …wife, Maribel Ellison, and seven children, Stephen (Vivian), John (Marisol), Malinda, David, Paul (Kim), Sean, and Spencer; along with numerous grand-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
I want to thank Dr. Parker and nurse Penny, as well as Mike Andrews and his team, Rhonda for her love and singing, Sandra for her support, and Marisol for her genuineness, and to my brothers and sisters of Wooddale Church, thank you for your prayers.
Above all things, I give thanks to my God and redeemer for the opportunity of my pilgrimage on earth, and although my imperfections were many, he did not condemn me but instead abounded in his grace toward me… To my children, I love you all…”
Dub cherished his family, served as a faithful missionary for over thirty years, and worked for KCS and Bill Gentry for fifteen years… He was a servant of God until the end. The question he asked the people around him most often, even in his final days in the hospital, was: Do you know my Jesus?
The celebration of life for Dub will be held at Wooddale Free Will Baptist Church, 712 Wooddale Church, Knoxville, TN, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wooddale Free Will Baptist Church in Dub's honor.
Online condolences may be left at www.mccartyevergreen.com for the Ellison family.
