Wayne Hodges Johnson

Wayne Hodges Johnson, age 71 of Knoxville, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday February 28, 2026. Born on October 31, 1954. Wayne was a member of Loveland Baptist Church. He gave his heart to the Lord as a young boy and has lived an exemplary life always putting the needs of his family and loved ones first. He was a wonderful and extremely dedicated son, brother, uncle and friend to many. To put it simply, Wayne was the best. His sweet spirit, his giving nature, his vast knowledge, his great sense of humor and dedication to God, his family, friends and work are just a few of the great qualities that he had. Wayne was a long time and dedicated employee of WATE, retiring in 2023 after 47 years. Wayne had many friends, good memories and lots of funny stories from his years working at WATE. His family and friends will have so many wonderful memories to cherish of times spent together with Wayne because of the thoughtful, loyal and loving person that he consistently was for all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Dorothy Johnson. Survived by his sister Donna Farmer (E.B), nephews Evan Harrell (Misty) and Clay Harrell. Uncles and Aunts: Howard & Joyce Hodges and Carl & Pat Johnson, and several cousins.

Receiving of friends will be on Monday March 9, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Berry Highland South Funeral Home located at 9010 E. Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN and a Graveside Service with Pastor Wayne Davis officiating will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
