Rev. Wayne L. McMillan

REV. WAYNE L. MCMILLAN, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 24th. He was a Baptist minister for 64 years until his retirement in 2010. He was a Master Mason for 50 years and a member of Kerbela Shriners. “For God so loved the world…” This is what he preached and what he believed. He was truly a man of God in every sense of the word and is now resting in the arms of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents, Claude A. and Lela Mae; brothers, Claude, Jr. and James; sister, Helen Henry. He is survived by his son, Bill and special sons and caregivers, Wayne Burkett and Greg Hicks. Several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday in Weaver’s chapel with service to follow. Rev. Jimmy Duncan officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45 pm Thursday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1pm interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in care of Kerbela Shriners, 315 Mimosa Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920.
