FOX, William C., age 85, peacefully passed away at his home in Knoxville surrounded by family and friends. William served as Chief of Police for Knoxville, Chief Deputy Sheriff in Knox County, Court Officer for US Marshals, and Security Director for the 1982 World's Fair. He is a Korean War veteran, USMC, 1st Marine Division. He is the beloved husband of Dorothy Byerly Fox for nearly 65 years, devoted father of Robert (Bobby) Lewis Fox and his wife, Mary Beth Fox, Vickey McKinney, and Mary Anne Thomas and loving Papaw to Jason Lowe (THP Sergeant), Lori, William Hunter, Johnathan, Rebecca, Jennifer and Lisa. He leaves behind many great grandkids. Funeral 7 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, Berry Chapel. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Fraternal Order of Police Volunteer Lodge # 2, 801 E. 5th Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917, for the summer youth program.
