William "Wild Bill" Gene Light, age 84, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Bill was a member of The Operating Engineers Union and worked as a mechanic. In his retirement he worked as a door greeter for Walmart.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, David Light and 11 siblings. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Irene; children, Bonnie Corum (Chuck) and John Light (Barbara); grandchildren, Matthew Haldeman (Katie), Mary Kate Riden (Taylor), Meagen Haldeman (Peyton Welch), Brianne Light, Danielle Light, Zachary Light, Joshua Light (Renee Cochran), Jacob Horenburg (Victoria); great-grandchildren, Elijah, Noah and Leo; daughter-in-law, Kimber Horenburg (Jim), brother, Don Light (Beverly) and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
