

Alan Lee Baldwin has been received into the hands of the Lord and has joined his friends and loves ones that were received before him. “Lee” Baldwin, as he was known by those who knew and loved him, passed on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, after a long battle with cancer, a battle he fought with the strength, courage, and determination that was prevalent in the way he lived his life and loved his family.
Lee was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 18, 1937, the son of Samuel and Luella (Rigby) Baldwin. He graduated New Castle High School in 1955 and entered the U.S. Navy, where he was an electronics technician. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Lee came to Kokomo and worked for Delco, where he retired after 43 years of service. He was an avid softball player, playing well into his 60s. Lee also enjoyed golfing and many other sports. He also liked reading and doing crossword puzzles. Lee was a member of American Legion Post #6. On Oct. 30, 1958, he married Cecelia (Hinkle) "Cis" Baldwin, his wife of 57 years, who survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Young (Terry); his son, Samuel L. Baldwin (Christine); his grandson, Jack Wright; his sister, Carol Weingartner; his nephew, Todd Weingartner; and his two great-nephews, C. J. and Jayson Weingartner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, M. Louise Baldwin, and his nephew, Craig Weingartner.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to any of Lee's favorite charities, including Wounded Warriors, the Kokomo Humane Society, or the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
