

He was born on September 1,1950 in Batesville, Arkansas to Frank and Nettie (Roberson) Powell. He married Brandie (White) Powell in November 1994.
Bill graduated from Kokomo High School in 1969. He worked at Cuneo Press while still in high school. After graduating he joined the armed services. After he came home, he went back to Cuneo press following it to Illinois, until the factory closed. In 1993, he started working at Chrysler and Union 685, where he retired after 20 years. Bill was also a retired member of the Milwaukee Iron Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley and going on many road trips and rallies with his club brothers. He also loved NASCAR and went to many races over the years. He was also a huge outdoors man. He loved fishing and hunting, setting a record for his 15-point buck in Boone and Crockett book. He also loved mushroom hunting and hanging out by the pool with a drink in his hand. Bill was always the life of the party. Bill and Brandie enjoyed hosting parties and get togethers for all his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Brandie Powell of more than 30 years; also, by his children, Melissa Powell Hays of Kokomo, Michele Adcock (Mikie) of Kokomo, Caleb Hicks of Kokomo, Maddison Johnson (Brandon Johnson) of Peru; many grandchildren, Zackery E.A. Hays Salem, IL, Shelby Sharp (Skylar), Bryce Scott (Monica), Lillian Hicks, Addilyne Heredia, Cameron Hicks, Benton Johnson, Oakley Hicks, and 3 great grandchildren; Blayne, Wrenley, and Cooper; one sister Brenda Pressy, of Kokomo, and a special friend, Gary Parks, of Kokomo.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents.
While our hearts mourn this great loss to our family, we take great comfort in knowing Bill is no longer suffering.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Bridgeway Church, 1401 E. Hoffer St. Kokomo, 46902 from 2:00pm-5:00pm, the time of the funeral service, with Larry Lamberson officiating.
Bill prioritized spending time together. The family asks in his honor you do the same. Go out and do something that brings you joy. Take your family out to dinner, ride your bike, or simply take a shot of Captain Morgan in his honor.
