

Bonnie Watkins, 79, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at her home. She was born December 23, 1934, in Tazewell, Tennessee, to James and Mary (Long) Lanham. She married Paul S. Watkins in 1953, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1992.
She worked at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1997 and was a member of UAW Local 292. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and crossword puzzles. She cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Mike (Lauren) Watkins, Kokomo and Richard (Cheryl) Watkins, New Palestine; one daughter, Christina Watkins, Kokomo; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew, Alexandra, Frank, and Davis Watkins; great-granddaughter, Annalee; step-grandchildren, Kimberly, Guy, and Christine; one brother, Jimmy Lanham, Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Anna Irwin, Spring Hill, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Brust officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
