Carl Lovely, 92, Kokomo, passed from the loving arms of his family into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at 10:17 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his home. He was born October 29, 1918, in Vasper, Tennessee, the son of Wiley and Mary (Welch) Lovely. On June 15, 1940, in Caryville, Tennessee, he married Jeanette (Harness) Lovely, and she survives.
He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific. He retired from Haynes in 1981 after 30 years of service. Carl was a member of Missionary Baptist Church and the Cabot Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Wanda Pickett, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jimmie Ray, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery with military honors provided by the Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites.
