

Carmen Rene (Russo) Rinehart, 75 of Kokomo, IN, graduated to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 24, 1950, in Peru, IN to the late Samuel and Pauline (Schultz) Russo.
Carmen was a 1968 graduate of Maconaquah High School and took a few classes from Ivy Tech and IUK. She worked for Delco Electronics and was a member of Local UAW 292. She married David in May,1989. In 1999, they moved to Bowling Green, KY where she retired from the Corvette Plant in 2003, after 31 years of service.
Carmen enjoyed gardening, traveling, decorating, and dancing. While in Kokomo, she volunteered for the CASA program in Howard County. After she retired, she worked for Home Instead, of Bowling Green, KY. She loved her pets, especially her little dog “Rascal.” She also loved rescuing animals. Carmen loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the local church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. She also loved to write poetry.
Surviving relatives include: her husband of 35 years, David; son, Brandon (Danielle) Hyde of Unicoi, TN; stepson, Adam (Shannon) Rinehart of Tipton, IN; stepdaughter, Haley Rinehart, of Kokomo, IN. She was a “sweet Nana" to grandchildren: Nathan, Conner, and Brookelyn Hyde, Emmilynn, Iain, and Samuel Rinehart, and Arianna and Elijah Hochstedler. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Sherri Rinehart, Sylvia Mason, and Penny Russo; niece, Becka (Matt) McKinley; and nephew, Brian Russo.
Those who have gone on before her include her parents, Samuel and Pauline; brothers, Daniel and Frank Russo; nephews, Craig and Nathan “Fuzz” Russo; and mother-in-law, Miriam “Jean” Rinehart.
The family would like to express its utmost gratitude to the Guardian Angel team: Terry, Angie, Maddi, Kay, and Ken for the top-notch care Carmen received during her final journey.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Garden Funeral Home from 9-11 AM, on Saturday, March 15, 2025. A service of celebration will be immediately following at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. It is the honor of her stepson, Dr. Adam R. Rinehart to officiate.
