Carol L. Madary Needham

Carol Lenore (Kunkle) Madary Needham, 92, went to be with our Lord on February 18, 2018. Carol was born on March 16, 1925 to Charles and Edith Kunkle in Peru, Indiana. Carol graduated from Peru High School in 1942. She married her first husband, William Paul Madary Jr. on February 14, 1943. He preceded her in passing on January 4th, 1972. Carol later married Wayne T. Needham in 1983. He preceded her in passing on May 8th, 1996.

Carol spent her life as a homemaker, always keeping things neat and tidy, and caring for her family. She loved to play penny poker and bridge. She was so good at bridge, everyone wanted to be her partner, and she became a Life Master.

Carol is survived by her son, William “Bill” (Bobbie) Madary, of Indianapolis, grandson, Michael Madary, of Indianapolis, granddog Mr. Max, several nieces and nephews, and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in passing by her parents, first husband William Madary, second husband Wayne Needham, two stepsons Ronnie and Larry Needham, step-grandson Michael Needham, siblings Marlyn Gerhardt, Erma Kunkle, Norma (Louis) Sharpf, Wilma “Patty” (Russell) Wilson, and Hobart (Regina) Kunkle.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM Friday, February 23rd at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Minister Ralph Lemmon will officiate. Carol will be laid to rest at Springdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
