

Charlotte R. VanWinkle, 83, of Kokomo and Kapolei, Hawaii, passed away September 27, 2015 in Hawaii. She was born August 10, 1932, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Luther Ray Bratten and Virginia Styles. On January 1, 1977, she married Frank VanWinkle, and he survives.
Charlotte worked for Delco Electronics for 32 years and retired in 1997. She is well known for selling Sarah Coventry Jewelry in Kokomo and was the top seller in the state for many years. Charlotte loved living in Hawaii which was always a goal of hers from when she was young. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Frank VanWinkle of Kokomo; son, Greg (Rhonda) Miller of Kokomo; grandchildren, Danita (Brian) Hall, Travis (Liz) Miller, and Ian Lilly; great-grandchildren, Haden Hall, Braden Hall, and Dillon Miller; and sister, Barbara Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Denise Lilly; two sisters; and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Roemer officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
