

Christopher Russell Jensen, 61, Newnan, Georgia, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Howard Regional Health System, from complications from a stroke. He was born June 2, 1950, in South Bend, to Clarence and Marjorie (Barnhart) Jensen.
After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1969, he spent eight years in the Air Force. He was a load master at Dover and Charleston AFB. He was also on the VIP crew for President Ford. When he left the Air Force, he went to work for Delta Airlines. He worked first in Indianapolis, then in Dallas, then in Little Rock and ended his career in Atlanta as a Senior Coordinator. He loved his Delta family and great friends he made while working there. He loved everything about space and airplanes and could tell what kind of plane it was almost without looking. He enjoyed going to air shows and watching IU basketball.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher Matthew (wife Diane) Jensen, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jonathan Dale (wife Tacy) Jensen, Little Rock, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Erin, Hailey, and Jack Jensen; father, Clarence Jensen; one sister, Debra (husband Thomas) Beck, Kokomo; one brother, Thomas James (wife Terry) Jensen, Watauga, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Jensen.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Benham officiating. Visiting hours will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Online messages of condolence may be made at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
