David Adair

David (Dave) Francis Adair, 82, of Kokomo, Indiana passed into Heaven on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Dave was born in Kokomo on April 12, 1942 to Russell and Hilda Adair, the seventh of nine children: Lucille (Bob) Coghill, Russell (Sue) Adair, Jody (Helen) Adair, Ruth Ellen Adair, Don (Shirley) Adair, Pat (Keith) Swavey, Larry (Paula) Adair and Marie (John) Brack. He grew up on a small farm near Hemlock, IN. His family all worked on the farm with crops, chickens, cattle, hogs and even two horses to watch over.

Dave graduated from Kokomo High School in 1960. After graduating he attended DeVry University in Chicago and graduated in 1962. He served 4 years in the United States Navy of which two of those years he was stationed in Japan. Upon discharge from the Navy, Dave was hired at Delco Electronics where he worked in Engineering Design until he retired after 30 years.

Dave was very active after retirement. He loved to play duplicate Bridge and played in a Bridge Group. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed helping others with his golf skills (siblings, nephews, and anyone who wanted to play). He loved to ski and went on many trips with friends to Colorado or anywhere else they could catch some good snow. He and his friends were in involved in bicycling touring with many trips as much as 100 miles per day.

Throughout his life, Dave loved and appreciated animals of any kind. He especially loved his two cats, Miss Kitty and Hotrod who are still with us and will be cherished by his family.

David is survived by sisters, Pat and Marie; brothers, Jody and Larry; 25 nieces and nephews; 43 great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Hilda Adair, two brothers, two sisters, three sisters-in-law, on brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in Dave's name to the Kokomo Humane Society or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

A time of Visitation for Dave will be held at Ellers Mortuary on Main Street, Kokomo on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following.
