David W. Deck

David Deck, 57, Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at his home. He was born February 2, 1954, in Kokomo, to the late Lawrence John Deck and the late Nellie C. (Bowen) Deck-Sexton. He married Kathy J. Boles, and she survives.

He graduated from Haworth High School in 1973. He had worked at Chrysler and later as a guard for Fingerhut at Delco in Anderson and finally as a guard for the Indiana Department of Corrections, from where he retired.

In addition to his wife, Kathy Deck, he is survived by two sons, Nathan Deck, currently serving in the military, and Zachary Hathcoat, Anderson; two daughters, Tammy (Chad) Jeffries, Elwood, and Brandi Demick, Daleville; six grandchildren, Olivia Creasy, Gavin King, Kadin Demick, Gracie Demick, Ethan Hathcoat, and Eli Hathcoat; six sisters, Suzanne Deck, Katherine (William) Eads, Jacqueline Williams, Pam (Gary) Shuck, Delviagene Ennis, and Vickie Jurden; four brothers, Paul Deck, Jerry (Betty) Deck, Mark (Vicki) Deck, and William Sexton; three step-brothers; four step-sisters; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marie Deck; step-father, William H. Sexton; and four brothers, Harry Leroy Deck, twin brothers, Donald and Ronald Deck, and Lawrence R. Deck.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
