Ellen Ruth Johnston

Ellen R. Johnston, 96, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St Josephs Hospital. She was born August 8, 1921. She married Hartley M. Johnston in 1942. He preceded her in death June 4, 1973. Ellen retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 26 years of service. She then went to work as a seamstress at Bargain Center. Ellen enjoyed sewing in her down time. Surviving Ellen are her four children, Matthew Johnston, Christina Johnston, Michael Johnston and Bill Johnston, adopted grandson, James Addison, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Hartley, daughter Ida Joann Johnston, sisters, Betty Eades, Rose Dunlap and baby brother Bruce Robertson. A Funeral Service will be held for Ellen at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel Monday, March 26, 2018 at 1:00pm with Pastor David Leeder officiating. The family will offer visiting hours prior to the service from 11am to 1pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
