

Florence K. Carter, 91, passed away at 9:15 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. She was born February 24, 1925, to John and Mary (Gorenc) Krhin in Struthers, OH. On March 2, 1945, she married Richard E. Carter, who passed away on September 6, 1992.
Florence graduated from Kokomo High School and worked in the offices of Delco Electronics, JC Penney, and Brada Miller Freight System. Florence, a 60-year member of Main Street Methodist Church, traveled from coast to coast and to Europe with the Kokomo and the Delco Travel Clubs. She golfed at the American Legion, socialized with the Golden Girls, played Bridge, Euchre, Spite and Malice, and Hand and Foot with her sisters and many friends in Kokomo, Seymour, and Sebring, FL, where she spent the winter months.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Antonio) Cazares of Jacksonville, FL, and Cynthia (Mark) Dennis of Seymour, IN; sister Desma Way; grandchildren: Michael (Sarah) Bowen, Alyssa (Dionel) Rodriguez, Matt (Amanda) Dennis, Holly (Jesse) Stauffer, Stacey Dennis, and Mahlon (Danielle) Dennis; eleven great grandchildren: Madelyn, Makenna, Maya, Maddox, and Maris Bowen; Dominic, Caroline, and Penelope Dennis; and Lucy, Harvey, and Harrison Stauffer; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Ernest Krhin; and sisters: Albina Koonsman, Bertha Myers, Goldie Warden, Dorothy Cross and Elizabeth Kemp.
Funeral services for Florence will be held at noon Friday, December 30, 2016, at Ellers Mortuary, 725 South Main Street, with Pastor Duane Carlisle officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to noon at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo, IN.
