Frank Powell, age 95, passed away on July 6, 2018 at Kokomo Healthcare. Frank was born on March 22, 1923 in Newark, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Lilly (Crutchfield) Powell.
On February 4, 1948, Frank was married to Nettie Faye Roberson. Nettie preceded Frank in passing on December 14, 2006. Frank worked as a machine operator at Cuneo Press in Kokomo for 33 years, before retiring in 1978. He was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, and his favorite hobbies included fishing, hunting, and gardening. Frank’s biggest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his children; Billy (Brandie) Powell, Bunker Hill, and Brenda (Mike) Pressey, Galveston; grandchildren, Melissa Hayes, Michelle Powell, Doug Bline (Brandi Evans), Jason McCulley, Maddison (Brandon) Johnson, and Caleb (Jillian) Hicks; sisters, Helen and Vuleen; 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, Frank was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
There will be a public visitation for Frank held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 11th from 10-12, with a funeral service immediately following.
