Gary D Arnold

Gary "Pap" David Arnold, 90, of Bloomington, Indiana "teed off" on March 5, 2024 at 6:01 PM. He was born on March 25, 1933 in Portland, Indiana the son of Mark and Mary L. Arnold. He married his high school sweetheart in 1953, Judith Louise McCool who preceded him in death.

Gary went to St. Patrick's Elementary School, graduated Kokomo High School and attended Indiana University Bloomington. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1990 from State Farm Insurance after 33 years of employment. After retirement he worked as a Ranger at the Indiana University Golf Course. Gary loved family, golf, travel, antiquing, poetry, music, and spending time in his Secret Garden...a true Renaissance Man. His favorite memories included sitting in a street cafe in Paris with Judy, spending time with his girls in Las Vegas, and golfing in Scotland at St. Andrew's with his sons, Matt and Andy.

He is survived by children, Douglas (Julie), Craig, Kathleen (Gregg) Diamond, Betsy (Rick Lucas) Sorrell, Matthew, Andrew (Jillian); grandchildren, Ian (Sonia) , Adam (Kelly), Emily (Steve), Lindy, Ryan, Alicia, Angela, Alex, Britany (Derek), Haley (Austin), Sean, Garrett, Brayden, Logan, Carson, Sawyer, Scarlett, Nolan (Haley), Jaxon; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Teagan, Wyatt, Will, Isabelle, Greyson, Drew, Mason, Chase, Finnley, Jude, Euan, Sadie, Brooks, Theo, Archie, Annistyn, Averie; nieces and nephews, Debbie Glass, Mike McCool, Bob McCool; sisters, Jeannine Foley (Linda, Laura), Mary Jo Kemper (Kirk, Scott, Lisa, Paul, Heather); sister-in-law, Connie Lamb (Karen, Cindy); feline companion Skooter.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; brother, Bob; brothers-in-law, Stan Lamb (John, Jim) and Harry McCool (MaryJo); sister-in-law, Carol McCool; in-laws, Max and Helen McCool; brother-in-law, Phillip Kemper.
