

Geneva “Leta” Novella (Crabtree) Bishop has gone home to be with the Lord at the age of 86 years old. She passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 7:57 p.m. She was born October 29, 1927, in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of Cerry and Rette Crabtree and was raised by Thelma Lewis of Bristol, Tennessee. On March 20, 1943, she married Genard Leroy Bishop, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2001.
She attended Honeycreek Missionary Baptist Church in Russiaville. She enjoyed cooking and church functions and loved being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Clarence E. (Lucy) Bishop, Kokomo, Douglas E. Bishop, Kentucky, Paul D. (Gail) Bishop, Kokomo, Thelma M. Bishop, Kokomo, Deborah L. (Hubert) Paul, Kokomo, and Michael J. (Debra) Bishop, Kokomo; lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Emil (Wilma) Murgg, Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin D. Bishop; a granddaughter, Kaleen Wisner; four brothers, Roy, Cecil, Dillard, and Fred; and four sisters, Gertrude, Ruby, Elizabeth, and Mabel.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Lehman Hale officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
