

Gloria Jean Johnson, 70, West Middleton, resigned her spirit into the hands of the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born July 16, 1943, in Kokomo, to Robert and Pansy G. (Eckles) Haworth. On August 5, 1961, she married Glen Johnson, Sr., and he survives.
She enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, gardening, and collecting rings and dolls, and she loved her grandchildren and cherished spending time with them. She was a member of the Daughters of America and Victory Church of God.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Glen (Laura) Johnson, Jr., Kokomo; two daughters, Gina (John) Smith, Luttrell, Tennessee, Ginger Jefferis, Kokomo; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronnie (Jackie) Quinn, Kokomo, Robert “Red” Quinn, Colorado, and Junior (Charmane) Meacham, Kokomo; and two sisters, Carolyn (Robert) Avery, Riverside, California, and Linda (Harold) Mouser, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Garrett Johnson; one grandson, David Johnson; and one sister-in-law, Annie Quinn.
The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Herman Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to family in care of the funeral home.
