Greg was born on February 13, 1951, to the late Robert J. and Mildred E. (Schmitt) Clark at Saint Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.
On August 30, 1996, Greg married Angela Pickard, a plant dispatcher who sent him on job assignments, which she continued to do for 25 more years of marriage until his death.
Greg is survived by his wife Angela Clark; children Jeremiah “J.C.” Clark, Nathaniel “Nate” Clark, Hanna (Matthew Baker) Bline, and Max (Savannah) Clark; grandchildren Lyla Bline and Benjamin Baker; sister Chiquita (Stephen) Meyers; brother Robert Joseph “B.J.” (Olga) Clark; nieces Stephanie (Chris Bluto) Meyers, Allison (Kody) Judy; nephews Brandon (Heidi) Clark, Heath (Elizabeth) Meyers, Adam (Samantha) Clark, and Jacob Pickard; brother-in-law Mark Pickard; in-laws Paul “Jake” and Donnie Pickard; and Crazy the Cat.
Greg graduated from Kokomo High School in 1969. In addition to retiring from the Indiana Army National Guard after 22 years of service, he was a skilled tinsmith, “Tin Man Greg,” retiring from General Motors after 30 years and then later Graves Sheet Metal.
After retirement, Greg spent time fishing with cousins Pete Schmitt and the late Mike Maloney, relaxing at Nyona Lake, tending goats, and watching the Cubs. His life was very family and community-oriented by coaching and supporting his children’s sport teams and other activities. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. During his “watch,” Greg and Lyla made many trips to Handy Hardware for doughnuts. Angela will miss margaritas with Greg on Thursday Mexican food date nights even though he never liked guacamole.
Greg was a member of the Knights of Columbus beginning in 1994 holding various positions and serving as Grand Knight for three terms. His bratwurst will be missed at the annual K of C Golf Tournament. Previously attending St. Patrick’s Elementary School, Greg was a member of St. Joan of Arc and St. Patrick Parishes.
Greg was an organ donor and at least two persons benefited from this gift.
