Helen M. (Vent) Kinney

Helen M. (Vent) Kinney, 92, Kokomo, passed away at 10:33 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, in her home. She was born on December 4, 1926 in Howard County, the daughter of Joseph G. and Magdalene (Indrutz) Vent. On November 12, 1949, she married John Robert Kinney at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1976. Helen attended St. Joan of Arc Grade School and was a graduate of West Middleton High School. She was retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company after 40 years of service. Helen was a superb homemaker and keen business entrepreneur. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends around the world. Helen was very proud of her family and Romanian heritage. She was also a life-long member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Helen is survived by her six children, Rev. Fr. John Michael Kinney, Ch, LtCol, USAF, Ret., San Antonio, TX., Bridget Andrea Kinney Aaron (Michael), Paul Kevin Kinney (Teresa), Patrick Francis Kinney (Martha), Mary "Molly" Magdalene Kinney, and Gabrielle Elizabeth Kinney, all of Kokomo; along with grandchildren, Rev. Fr. Sean Aaron, Seth Aaron (Jill), Adam Aaron, Rev. Fr. Derek Aaron, Joshua Kinney, Ashlie Taskey (Grant), Jacob Kinney (Brandi), Rachel Kinney, Kristin Kinney, John Kinney (Amanda), Matthew Kinney (Stephanie), Erin Thompson (Brett), Martha Frey, Mitchell Frey (Emily); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Annetta White, brother, Paul Vent (Marlene), and sister-in-law, Edith Vent, all of Kokomo; cousins, George Alexander (Jean), Kokomo, John Alexander (Janice), Greentown, and Virginia Bailey, of Kokomo; and, several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Robert Kinney, grandson Paul Kevin Kinney Jr., and siblings Aurelia Newcom, Samuel Vent, Anne Slusher, Marie Ortman, John Vent, and Joseph Vent. Family and friends are invited to a Vigil Prayer Service with Rosary, Monday, July 29, 7:00 p.m., St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to the visitation with the family, Tuesday, July 30, 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, July 30, 1:00 p.m., St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church; 3155 Country Rd. South 200 West in Kokomo with Rev. Father John Michael Kinney and concelebrants, Rev. Fr. Sean Aaron and Rev. Fr. Derek Aaron. Interment will follow at Albright Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saints Joan of Arc and Patrick Catholic School and Monastery of the Poor Clares in memory of Helen Kinney.
