

James Robert Andreas passed away peacefully at 11:40 pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the VA Northern Indiana Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1926 in East Pittsburgh, PA to Julius and Mary (Yunic) Andreas. On April 19, 1952 in Munhall, PA James and Theresa were married. They were married 57 years and she passed away in 2009.
James served in the US Army during WW2. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1989 and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. James enjoyed going to Las Vegas, working in his garden and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers games.
James is survived by four sons; Gerard (Marsha) Andreas, Allen (Joni) Andreas, and Bruce (Robin) Andreas all of Kokomo, Robert (Mary) Andreas, Lawrenceville, New Jersey; two daughters, Denise Wood, Dalton GA, and Sue Drohan (Jim), Fort Wayne.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Alainia Andreas, Tia Connally, Matthew Wood, Heidi Wood-Zimmerman, Heather Carpenter, Joel Andreas, Amy Freeland, Eric Andreas, Jason Andreas, Allen Andreas Jr, Michael Andreas, Hannah Drohan, Ryan Drohan and Emily Andreas; and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is an aunt, Edith Hornyak, N. Versailles, PA; and a sister-in-law, Mary “Dolly” Andreas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Joel; a son-in-law Terry Wood; grandson Devin Andreas; two brothers Julius “Mac” Andreas and Joel Andreas, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Andreas.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 West. Father Matthew Arbuckle will celebrate. James will be laid to rest with military honors at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 pm Tuesday evening at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S Webster St.
