

James Edward Brown, 70, of Kokomo passed away at 2:45pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at his residence. Born March 28, 1946 in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of the late Jack Brown and Marianna (Bratton) Brown. He was a 1964 graduate of Marion High School. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. On May 1, 1971 in Kokomo, he married Dianna Faye (Tomlinson), and she survives. He was employed at RCA in Marion for 17 years until 1981. He then was employed at Haynes International in Kokomo for 22 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader for 50 years. He enjoyed water skiing, fishing, swimming, motorcycles, camping and the outdoors in general. He always participated in the reenactment of the War of 1812 and Koh-Koh-Mah. He was also a member of the First Landmark Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dianna Faye Brown of Kokomo; one son, Andrew Clayton (Bridget) Brown of Lafayette; one brother, Jerry Charles (Michele) Brown of Marion; one sister, Beverly Frist of Marion; grandchildren Laine, Ben, and Wrigley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Brinker, also by an infant sister, Jackie K. Brown.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo. Pastor Robert Morphew will officiate. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Boy Scouts of America.
