

Jerolyn “Jeri” Ruth Blessing, 80, Kokomo, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2014. She was born May 12, 1933, in Tipton Township, Cass County, to Benjamin C. and Ruth Lois (Cotterman) Couch. On March 19, 1977, she married Robert J. Blessing, who survives.
For several years, Jeri worked in the cafeteria at the Galveston Elementary School. She also worked in the dentistry field and the area of floristry. However, her first love was being a homemaker. She loved cooking and preparing meals for family get-togethers and being with her children and grandchildren on special occasions.
Jeri loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and accepted Him as her personal savior at an early age. She was active in the First Landmark Baptist Church ministries. She was church pianist, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and worked in the Children’s Discovery program.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Ruth Lois (Cotterman) Couch; children, Scott (Jane) Fague, Tipton, Leslie (Jay) Haas, Raymore, Missouri, and Steve (Onda) Fague, Flora; step-daughter, Kris (Scott) Pearce; grandchildren, Erin (Corey) Scott, Clay Fague, Jacob (Joan) Fague, Lucas Fague, Elizabeth Barton, Adrianne Courter, Stephanie (Andy) Brown, Andrew (Mandy) Barton, Megan (Adam) Smith, and Clint Fague and fiancé Leanne Raney; great-grandchildren, Jack and Ben Scott, Macy and Parker Fague, Joy and Julia Fague, Ethan and Isaac Courter, Kyle and Chloe Brown, Reagan and Warren Barton, and Molly Smith; step-grandchildren, Mallory Pearce, Jessica Pearce, and Kylie Pearce; step-great-granddaughter, Cataleigha Pearce; brother, Charles (Carolie) Couch, Kokomo; uncle and aunt, Jack and Joan Cotterman; nieces, Jean Ann Ubik, and Karen Sue Frew; great-nieces, Sara Weber, and Katie Ubik; and great-nephews, Brandon Frew, and Tyler Frew.
She was preceded in death by her father; a grandson, Benjamin Fague; and a great-grandson, Nathan Hahn.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Morphew officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Landmark Baptist Church.
