John W. Yager

John W. Yager, 94, of Kokomo, IN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2022. He was the son of John F. and Mary (Locke) Yager. He married Wilma K. (Miller) Yager who preceded him in death.

John graduated from Howard Township High School in 1945. He enjoyed playing semi pro baseball in Europe and in the United States. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed near Freising, Germany and spent time in eleven European countries. He became life long friends with people he was stationed with in the military. After his military duties were over he returned to the family farm. He loved the outdoors and the quiet peaceful life of the farm. He loved to be with his family and meeting his friends for lunch. John was a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church and enjoyed reading his bible.

Surviving relatives include son, Greg (Ann) Yager of Florida; daughter, Anita Yager of Kokomo, IN; son, Gary (Kay) Yager of Kokomo, IN; five grandchildren, Blaine, Bart, Brice, and Bride Yager and Clayton Silence; two step-grandchildren, Beau and Grant Tabor; several great grandchildren and niece Mary Lou Conwell.

He was preceded by his parents, wife, and sister Jean Conwell.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Monday, January 31, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contribution can be made to Chapel Hill Christian Church.
