Joyce Kathryn Richey, 68, of Kokomo, passed away at 5:43 PM Thursday October 10, 2019 at Golden Living Center-Sycamore Village, Kokomo. Born November 17, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Emerson "Tom" DeLong and Mae (Little) DeLong. On January 25, 1969 in Kokomo, she married Danny J. Richey, and he survives. She was employed at IMMI in Westfield for nine years, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed gardening, going to the movie theatre, reading, following politics; and loved music, dancing, and her pets. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Danny J. Richey; two sons, Dr. Joshua (Carrie) Richey and Jacob (Jen) Richey; one daughter, Gina McGowen; one brother, Jim (Marie) DeLong; three sisters June DeLong, Joann Rostron and Janet (Perry) Landrey. There are also seven grandchildren Isabella McGowen, Sophie McGowen, Gus McGowen, Luke Richey, Blake Richey, Connor Richey and Hank Richey. There are also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; also by one nephew Jimmy DeLong

A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 PM Saturday November 2, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Chaplains Steve Fleck and Ron Forsythe will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 PM Saturday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Kokomo Humane Society, AMVETS, or to the Alzheimer's Association, with envelopes available at the mortuary.
