Nécrologie de Kerry Brian Carte
Kerry Brian Carte, passed away on November 4, 2019 at 11:36 pm at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, due to complications related to COPD. Kerry was born February 12, 1959 in Lafayette, IN to James Donald and Mary Jo Carte. The family would later move to Arcadia, IN where Kerry graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1978. As a teenager he worked at Carter’s grocery in Tipton, IN where he met his best friend and wife, Krista (Rogers) Carte. They were married December 21, 1979. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage next month. The couple have 1 daughter, Lindsey (Carte) Bailey, along her husband Ross and their daughter Eleanor. Kerry retired from Kokomo Sanitary Pottery in 2008 after 30 years of service. Kerry’s favorite pastime was being with friends and family. He never met a stranger, talking to anyone and everyone. His personality was larger than life; he was described by others as the one everyone wanted to be around, one of a kind. He loved to joke and would always make you laugh. You could have just met him and it was like seeing an old friend. He loved being the life of the party, such as performing karaoke or professing that he was the best gambler of any given situation. He would even whole heartedly play the part of his wife’s assigned Halloween costumes. He equally enjoyed quiet time at home with his wife, maybe watching the same movie together for the hundredth time. Kerry loved to tell stories. He would talk about his childhood, his family adventures as a husband, father and Papaw. He also enjoyed being with friends from the Pottery to recount their memories from his 30 years of work. Kerry left an impact on everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. One of the good ones was taken from us far too soon. He will be watching us, he has always called himself a “guardian angel”. In addition to being survived by his wife Krista, daughter Lindsey (Ross) Bailey, granddaughter Eleanor, he is survived by siblings Dave (Debbie) Carte, Leann (Tim) Castor, Patrick Carte (Cindy Mayfield), and Todd Carte, also 4 nieces and 6 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chris Carte. Funeral services will be Saturday November 9, 2019 11:00am at Ellers Mortuary Webster St. with visitation Friday November 8, 2019 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Mortuary. Pastor Steve Allen will be officiating. www.ellersmortuarywebster.com.
