Kim K Stiles

Kim K. Stiles, age 63, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Kokomo. She was born on June 12, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio to Janie Young and the late Joseph Young. Kim graduated from Maconaquah High School in Bunker Hill in 1973. She then joined the United States Army and served from 1979-1983 as a Military Finance Specialist. While serving, Kim received several certificates, awards of achievement, Good Conduct Medal, and qualified as Marksman on the M16 rifle and hand grenade. Following her service to her country, Kim received her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 1995 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Indiana University Kokomo in 1998. She also received additional studies in Textile Marketing through Kansas State University. Kim was married to her Army partner, Tyrone Herbert, in Germany in 1980. She and Tyrone later divorced. She then Married Gerald Stiles on June 1, 2003. Gerald preceded Kim in passing in 2007. Kim proclaimed Jesus Christ as her savior in 1980. She was an active member of the Professional Women Group in Kokomo and member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Kim became handicapped in 1989, but never let that stop her from continuing her education. Kim is survived by her mother, Janie Young; brothers, Bruce Young, Leroy Young, and Eugene Young; nephews, Bruce P. (Tasha Powe) Young, and Jason Hardiman Young; niece, Haven Young; great-niece, Leilani Auroah Young; great-nephew, Kawhai Jairus Young; and special friend, Carmen Haskin. There will be a public visitation for Kim held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo on Wednesday, October 31st from 11-1, immediately followed by a funeral service. Memorial contributions in Kim’s name may be made to the American Heart Association.
