Larry A. Farris, 78, of Sharpsville passed away on September 29, 2019 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Larry was born on January 16, 1941 in Davis City, Iowa to William and Vera Adeline (Sly) Farris. He was a graduate of Oakland City University with a bachelor's degree and earned his master's degree from Ball State University. On July 9, 1972, Larry married Berniece Billeter. He was a teacher of Business and English at Tri-Central High School, retiring in 2000 after 33 years of service to his community. Larry attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Sharpsville Methodist Church. Larry was a 50 year member of Kokomo Men of Note Barber Shop Quartet, loved attending auctions, and rarely did you see him without a book in his hands. He was a loyal fan of his granddaughters' sporting events and never missed games.
Larry is survived by his wife, Berniece; son, Terry (Lisa) Farris of Sharpsville; granddaughters: Taylor (Cody) Smith and Haley Farris, all of Sharpsville; brother Randy Farris of Lebanon; loyal dog, Simba. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Melanie Farris.
Funeral services for Larry will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 7, 2019 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo with Reverend Stan Zurcher officiating. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the funeral home.
