Lillia Mae Zimmerman, 87, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born June 5,1936 in Greenback, Tennessee to the late Sherman and Oma Stiner. She was raised in a big family with 10 brothers and sisters.
Lillia worked for Cuneo Press for many years and then went on to work for Delphi where she retired in 2001. In her free time she enjoyed taking care of her home and her yard.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Ron) Phillips; grandchildren Kelly (Stacy) Smith, Joshua Phillips, Crystal Dobbins; great grandchildren Aiden Phillips and Isaiah Clark; brothers Walter (Martha) Stiner of Elwood, Indiana and Sherman Stiner of Anderson, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Lillia was preceded in death by her husband Robert Zimmerman on September 18, 1997 and her son Robert Scott Zimmerman January 22, 2011. Also preceding her are her siblings Everett, Lafayette, Dolly Mae, Jessie, Pearl, Mallie, and Emma.
A visitation for Lillia will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillia's memory may be made to Kokomo Humane Society, 729 E Hoffer St, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Lillia donated often to help all of the little animals.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brickyard Healthcare Memory Unit and Gentiva Hospice for their amazing care of Lillia.
