Linda Lou Mouser passed away peacefully in Kokomo, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by family. Linda was born March 24, 1937, in Kokomo, and was married to her devoted husband, Harold, for 64 years before his passing in 2018.
Linda met Harold Mouser in 1954 after, according to him, she was “showing off” with a cartwheel performance in front of the hanger factory where he worked in Kokomo.
Linda was a friendly face to many as a cashier at Marsh supermarket on Washington Street in Kokomo, a role she retired from in the 1990s after more than 20 years of service. She traveled the world on motorcycle with Harold by her side as a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association “Chapter J” from 1978 to 2014. Linda was a devoted Christian and attended Victory Church of God, where she was a song leader for several years. She loved Jesus and was always known as the best singer in the choir. Her hobbies included a love for shoes, Shirley Temple, and The Wizard of Oz, and her doll collection was unmatched. But her proudest achievement in life was her family. Linda may have given birth to four children but played an important role in shaping the lives of so many more, including 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was always there for her family no matter what.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband Harold Mouser; parents Pansy Eckles and Paul Quinn; sister Gloria Johnson; and brothers Robert “Red” Quinn, Ronnie Quinn and Junior Quinn. She is survived by her sister Carolyn (Robert) Avery; children John Mouser, Julie (Gary) Prim, Jeff Mouser, and Jill (Phil) Griggs; grandchildren Derek Mouser, Kenzi Mouser, Cory Prim, Hillary Prim, Leslie Carlson, Mandi Mouser, Amy Castillo, Cari Abrams, Elijah Abrams, Emily Abrams; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, November 7, at 1pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home (2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 8445 Keystone Crossing, Suite 135, Indianapolis, IN 46240; or phone 317-202-9210. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
