Patricia A Paulus

Patricia Ann Paulus, 65, of Kokomo, passed peacefully on July 8th, 2017 at Wellbrooke Pat was born on December 24th, 1951 to her parents Dr. Harold and Bernice Paulus in Cincinnati, OH Pat married her soulmate Brad Carter on August 12th, 1978 in Minneapolis, MN She is survived by her loving husband, brother Charles (Jane) Paulus, niece Laura (Mark) Horton, nephew Jeffrey Paulus, and grandnieces Whitney and Lillian Horton, sister-in-law Jane Hille (and Jane’s son, Carter), step father-in-law Pete Ludwig, brother-in-law Jeff (Janet) Carter and daughters Hilary (Alex) Smith and Vanessa (Richard) Lee and families. Pat graduated from Washburn High School in 1969, and in 1973 graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota. She completed her PhD in 1979 from the University of Iowa. She went on to work for Kaiser Aluminum in Louisiana and Delphi Electronics. She was a deeply faithful person and prayed often. The gym was even a place of prayer for her. She taught one of her Amazon parrots how to sing opera, and the bird matched her voice exactly. She loved all of her Maine Coon cats, was an avid reader, and loved to travel. Pat was a very giving person and listened, connected, and helped many. Her family described her as a Jewel.
